Summary: This hand written 40 plus page notebook contains a typed introduction by Annie Greer Heaton. Isaac was an officer in the Confederate Home Guard in Ashe County, NC during the Civil War. Contained in these notes are rosters and information on his farm and costs of products. He also wrote a hymn about dying and going to the angels. Soon he was bushwhacked by neighbors while plowing his corn. This writer's great grandmother was with him in that corn field in 1864. - Glenn N. Holliman
