Summary: In 1930 James Monroe Holliman, a Birmingham, Alabama attorney, father of Cecil R. Holliman and grandfather of Rhodes B. Holliman (a great uncle of Glenn N. Holliman) penned these words on his ancestry. He died tragically of blood poisoning in 1938 after smashing his fingers in the door of his car. As to his branch of the Holliman family, he was the first member to acquire higher education, in 1910/11, at the University of Alabama law school in Tuscaloosa.
